Photographing families in Austin, Texas has been an absolute joy. Even though we all have access to devices that can take photos instantly, families still value having photos taken by a professional photographer who eliminates the struggle that comes with propping up a smartphone and guessing if the shot will be in focus for every person in the family (and not just on Auntie Beth who’s in the middle of the family of eight).
I had such a wonderful time photographing a Mommy and Me photo session with the sweetest mother and daughter. These photos were done early in the morning, right before school, with weather that graced us with beautiful fog. The softness of the environment and a happy family will always make great photos. Connecting with people is one of my favorite parts of being a photographer. Not only does this step help put my clients at ease, but it’s also one of the first necessary steps to produce photographs that my clients love. Clients feel seen and heard and the resulting photographs always reflect their personalities. They even end up ordering more photos than they originally planned on receiving which makes me happy to feel as if I’ve done my job beyond what they expected.
During this photo session, my client and I had a wonderful time connecting with our shared roots. We decided to photograph in a garden and had lots of fun exploring our surroundings during our one-hour session. We caught the early morning light, had lots of laughs, and took images that really reflected my client’s heartfelt personality and grace.
