I asked my husband the other day if my smile was too gummy.
Without hesitation, he told me my smile was the reason he fell in love with me. That was the beginning, the middle, and the end of it.

We all have insecurities.

We zero in on the parts of ourselves we think are too much, too little, or not enough.

But what we obsess over is rarely what anyone else sees.

As a professional photographer, I hear it all the time:

“I hate my face.”
“I have too many wrinkles.”
“My chin is weird.”
“Can you make me look younger?”

And it breaks my heart. Because the absolute truth is this: people don’t see what you hate about yourself.

They see how you treat them.
They feel your presence.
They’re drawn in by your confidence, your kindness, and your ability to connect.
They hear your voice. They trust your energy.

They’re not looking at your smile trying to measure how gummy it is. They’re not counting laugh lines.

They’re experiencing you.

And that’s what I focus on when I photograph you.
